1. Introduction
Welcome to Veil ("we," "our," or "us"), a project by SoftexForge. We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This policy explains how we handle your data, specifically your biometric verification data.
This Privacy Policy applies to all information collected through our website, mobile application, and any related services (collectively, the "Services").
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Verification Data
When you use our AI Verification ("The Gatekeeper"), we process your video selfie to verify liveness, age, and gender. We do not store your raw video permanently. It is processed to create a mathematical hash ("SkinHash") and then either discarded or encrypted in cold storage for dispute resolution only.
2.2 Personal Information
We collect the following personal information:
- Email address
- Date of birth (for age verification)
- Gender identity
- Location data (for Safe Zone features)
- Profile information (interests, preferences, dealbreakers)
2.3 User Content
Messages and photos sent during "Reveal" phases are end-to-end encrypted and stored securely.
2.4 Device and Usage Data
We automatically collect:
- IP address and device identifiers
- Device model, operating system version
- Usage statistics (features used, time spent)
- Crash logs and diagnostic data
3. Biometric Information
Veil uses computer vision to verify identity. By using Veil, you consent to the processing of your facial geometry for the sole purpose of verification and anti-spoofing.
Important:
- Your biometric data is never sold to third parties
- It is never used for advertising purposes
- The raw biometric data is converted to a cryptographic hash and the original is destroyed
- We cannot reconstruct your face from the hash
4. How We Use Your Data
- To verify you are a real human (Anti-Bot protection)
- To prevent banned users from creating new accounts (Anti-Catfish protection)
- To facilitate matching based on your preferences and dealbreakers
- To provide the "Safe Zone" location features
- To improve our Services and develop new features
- To communicate with you about updates, security alerts, and support
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- End-to-end encryption for messages and photos
- Encrypted storage of biometric hashes
- Regular security audits and penetration testing
- Access controls and authentication for our systems
However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
Right to Access
Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Right to Correction
Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
Right to Deletion ("Right to be Forgotten")
Request deletion of your account and personal data. Your biometric hashes and all associated data will be permanently removed from our active database within 30 days.
Right to Object
Object to processing of your personal data for certain purposes.
Right to Data Portability
Request your data in a machine-readable format.

8. International Data Transfers

Veil is intended for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect data from individuals under 18. If we learn we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of our Services after changes constitutes acceptance.
